In my research, I focus on the impacts of travel, migration, and cultural transformation on religious and social life in the ancient Mediterranean. I serve as co-director of the Ostian Connectivity Project, a collaborative digital research initiative that studies networks and perceptions of social and geographic scale through a big data approach to Latin inscriptions. My personal research examines the constructions of exoticism and self through material culture in Roman Greece, focusing on particularly on how Greeks Egyptian religion to redefine Greekness in an imperial context.
