Sabina Deitrick, PhD, is Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs and Director of Urban and Regional Analysis program at the University Center for Social and Urban Research (UCSUR) at the University of Pittsburgh.  Her research focuses on issues of transition and transformation in post-industrial cities and regions.  She has involved students through Capstone seminars, first experience research and individual work in bridging the gap in digital governance for smaller communities in Pennsylvania.  She was awarded the University of Pittsburgh Chancellor’s Distinguished Public Service Award in 2004, and currently serves on the City of Pittsburgh Planning Commission.  She received her BA and MA from the University of Pennsylvania and PhD in city and regional planning from the University of California, Berkeley.
